CASA volunteers are everyday citizens appointed by a judge to advocate for the safety and well-being of children who have been removed from their homes due to parental abuse and neglect. They stand up for these children and change their lives.
For many children, their CASA volunteer will be the one constant adult presence while they are in foster care. Each year more than 85 children in Lafourche Parish will be brought before a judge; not because of a crime they have committed, but because they have been abused, neglected and/or abandoned.
CASA volunteers across the United States have helped more than two million children find safe, permanent homes. This is the goal of every Court Appointed Special Advocate.
